The Résumé
Obielumani “Obie” Amudo is a Harvard scholar, author, and advisor whose journey reflects both discipline and reinvention. She graduated valedictorian of The John Cooper School in The Woodlands, Texas, where she earned the highest GPA in school history and set multiple records as a student-athlete.
At Harvard, Obie initially pursued Statistics before transitioning to Art, Film, and Visual Studies—a shift that highlights her ability to succeed in highly technical arenas while following her deeper passion for storytelling and perspective. Despite not holding a finance degree, she secured and excelled in five highly competitive internships across portfolio management, hedge funds, investment banking, private equity, and growth advisory, with firms including Blackstone, Vista Equity Partners, Perella Weinberg Partners, GCM Grosvenor, and MudoZangl. She also completed the prestigious Girls Who Invest program and served as an executive board member at BLK Capital Management, a black student-run, non-profit hedge fund.
The Mission
Beyond her academic and professional achievements, Obie is deeply committed to helping young people cut through the noise of a comparison-driven world. She believes too many students grow up overwhelmed by insecurity and external expectations—and she sees her role as that of a big sister mentor, guiding the next generation toward clarity, confidence, and self-actualization.
Her creative work mirrors this mission. In 2024, she completed her first book, a sister sees, a collection of prose exploring self-discovery, introspection and transformation. She is also an award-winning artist and linguist, with accolades in French, Spanish, and visual arts. Born in Brunei to Nigerian parents, Obie is a naturalized Australian citizen who has also lived in Oman, South Africa, Malaysia, and the US. Obie brings a global perspective to her teaching, and is deeply curious about how culture can shape identity.
Today, she shares her insights with an audience of nearly 100,000 followers across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, where her focus is not only on glamour, but also on practical, encouraging advice about building unshakable self esteem, rewriting your narrative, and realizing your potential. Through her brand LIVE LUMANI, Obie is creating resources, communities, and programs designed to help students and young adults not only achieve admissions success, but also step into the best version of themselves.
